Guided Wine Tasting

We are excited to introduce something a little different for the wine night this December.
We have booked my local sommelier and wine merchant Gennaro, to hold the first fully guided wine tasting at The Doe.
Gennaro specialises in natural and biodynamic wines. For the evening there will be something for everyone, with one sparkling, two white, one rose, two red and one outstanding dessert wine on the menu.
Six of the eight wines will be carefully paired by Gennaro with a selection of Sharpham Cheeses and the dessert wine will be paired with chocolate. The wines will be served in 50ml measures.
The cheese he has chosen will be the perfect match for each of the wines and will be accompanied with crackers from the Fresh Flour Company.
Gennaro will talk you through the flavour profile, the differences in terroir and details about the producers, all of whom he has visited many times in his native Italy.
At the end of the tasting everyone will be given the opportunity to purchase the wines at a reduced retail price (ranging from £20 - £40). An additional 5% discount will be given on purchases of 6 bottles or more.
You will also be able to take the experience home, to share with your family and friends this Christmas, as we will have the fridge stocked with all the Sharpham cheese pairings from the evening as well.
This is a ticketed event, on a first come first served basis. There will be only 25 places available at £40 per person.
Doors will be open from 6.30pm if you would like to kick off your evening with a pint.
